Dr. Spero Lappas rose from poverty, family dysfunction, and a lack of opportunity to become one of the leading trial lawyers in Pennsylvania. He served as lead counsel in hundreds of important civil and criminal cases and has been honored in The Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World, America’s Leading Lawyers, and The Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers.
His classic success story – position, prominence, and prestige – took an dramatic turn when at the age of fifty-eight he confronted the powerful realization that despite the rewards of his profession he was not living an authentic, fully integrated, life. Instead of conquering the life of his aspirations, he had become a passive rider on a runaway train of circumstance and routine. His desired destination – personal fulfilment – was nowhere on the route.
Conquer Life’s Frontiers presents a practical, step-by-step, action plan for overcoming the obstacles that keep us from maximizing personal contentment and individual fulfillment. This process, Creating a Personal Renaissance, relates to any aspect of our lives and aspirations. Lappas used this system to transition from a successful legal career, earn a PhD, and become a college professor and writer in order to achieve his own highest level of happiness. Having materialized his true passion, Dr. Lappas wrote Conquer Life’s Frontiers to express his promise that you can fulfill yours too – and to show you how to do it. Whether you want to start a new career, lose twenty pounds, or improve your backhand, Conquer Life’s Frontiers can show you how.
Lappas regularly speaks to enthusiastic community audiences and makes frequent appearances in electronic and print media. He has taught at several colleges and universities and has written for the Harrisburg Patriot News, The Burg Newspaper, The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, Dickinson Law Review, Champion Magazine, and The Encyclopedia of American Studies. He writes a regular column about personal happiness and contentment in Life in Forest Hills Magazine and his work will soon appear in Natural Awakenings. He has a PhD from Penn State, a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the Dickinson School of Law, and a BA (cum laude) from Allegheny College. He has two adult children and one grandchild. He is an artist, a prize-winning photographer, a tournament Scrabble champion, a world traveler, and a formerly nationally ranked three weapon fencer. He is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
